Producer Info:
The Pasqua family remain at the forefront of brilliant winemaking families in Treviso, near Veneto’s centre in the North-Eastern sector of Italy. After making a name for their estate labelled Valpolicella and Amarone, the attention turned to white wines typical of the altitude and maritime influence of this part of Europe.
The San Giorgio range of reds come from vineyards in the Southern parts of Italy, grown for generousity and fruit character. Delicious value reds with surprising depth and volume but inherently balanced and well made
Tasting note:
Dark, opaque colour with a lovely body of warm winter fruits and underlying hints of Cocoa. Medium bodied with lots of black cherries, bramble fruits, herbs and violets. Easy drinking, round and soft.
Growing System: Guyot
Soil Composition: Limestone and clay soil
Production:
Traditional red vinification, with maceration on the skins at controlled temperature. Soft pressing of the berries, to avoid the discharge of bitter tannins and promote that of the anthocyanin, thereby providing deeper colour. Once alcoholic fermentation is over, the wine spontaneously carries out malolactic fermentation for 20-25 days.
Ageing: The wine is then assembled and aged for 6 months before bottling.
Alcohol (%): 13%
